MANILA, Philippines –Mark Barroca of the San Mig Super Coffee Mixers is the new obstacle challenge champion in the 2014 PBA All-Star Weekend.
The San Mig playmaker unseated 4-time champion Jonas Villanueva by besting him and all of their other competitors with an elimination round time of 31.4 seconds and a finals round time of a whopping 29.8 seconds.
The 5-foot-10 Barroca breezed through the full court obstacle which consisted of first making a lay-up, then zigzagging through the cones to make a chest pass through a metal ring. That’s followed by a bounce pass through another ring, then a three-pointer and an overhead pass through the last ring, and finally running around cones again to finish with a lay-up.
“Isip ko na lang yung pinagana ko,” Barroca said after he won. “Pinagisipan ko kagabi pa na masaya pag nanalo ako. Alam ko na yung gagawin kasi na-experience ko na ‘to last year. Pinagtrabahuhan ko na lang yung focus at execution.”
Barroca won P30,000 for his victory.
