Iverson to conduct basketball clinic for adults in PH visit
'This won’t be just an ordinary basketball clinic, I’ll be sharing with them not just my knowledge in basketball, but also a part of myself,' says Allen Iverson

MANILA, Philippines – Basketball fans who grew up idolizing Allen Iverson will now get the chance to learn the fundamentals of the game, among others, under his tutelage.

A few hours before he leads a group of Ball Up (formerly known as And1) streetball All-Stars, Team Gawad Kalinga, in the All In game, Iverson will run a basketball clinic for adults from ages 20 and above from 3 to 5 pm at the Mall of Asia Arena on November 5.

Registration is currently ongoing until October 25. Those interested may call PCworx at (02) 575-1520.

“It’s always a privilege for me to go out there and share my love and passion for basketball,” Iverson said in a phone interview.

“This won’t be just an ordinary basketball clinic, I’ll be sharing with them not just my knowledge in basketball, but also a part of myself. This is my way of saying thank you to my fans who stood by me through the years.”

The clinic fee is at P5,000 ($112) including snacks, a t-shirt, a certificate, a free ticket to watch the clinic for guests, and a free general admission ticket to watch the All In game where Team Gawad Kalinga – led by Iverson as a coach – will go up against Team PCWorx.

Team PCWorx will be composed of UAAP MVP Kiefer Ravena, other UAAP, NCAA, and PBA players, and former NBA players Eddy Curry and DerMarr Johnson.

Tickets for the All In event are still available with proceeds going to Gawad Kalinga. – Rappler.com
