Tickets to the FIBA Asia playoffs have sold like hotcakes.

MANILA, Philippines — Almost gone.

Despite the increase in ticket prices for the knockout stages of the 2013 FIBA Asia Championship, seats in the Patron, Lower Box, and Upper Box sections have been sold out as early as Friday morning, August 9, with only General Admission tickets available for August 10 and 11 matchups.

Seats to today’s games, which feature the quarterfinal match-up between the Philippines and Kazakhstan, however are officially sold-out. But SM Tickets, the official ticketing partner of the event, will be opening their booths again at 5:00 PM to sell Standing Room Only tickets.

SM Tickets started selling tickets Thursday morning, August 8, with seats selling out within hours, forcing them to put up a one-ticket-per-person scheme in buying tickets starting today.

If Gilas Pilipinas wins tonight against the Kazakhs, the Philippines will face either Qatar or Korea in the semis on Saturday, August 10. – with reports from Levi Verora/Rappler.com
