Blatche, who is now an NBA free agent, was instrumental in Gilas’ inspired first game showing against FIBA-ranked 16th team Croatia, which barely escaped the Philippines in overtime, 81-78.

“It’s painful, but I’m gonna play,” Blatche, 28, said in the interview posted on Instagram. 

“Twisted it (knee). It’s a little sore but I’m going to fight through it. I’m gonna play,” he added. 

The 6-foot-11 Blatche, who led all scorers with 28 points to go with 12 rebounds, twisted his knee in the second quarter of the intense game and was seen limping on the court as well.
