Pacquiao predicted the Warriors would win in 5 games

MANILA, Philippines – Manny Pacquiao called it.

Days before the NBA Finals began, the WBO welterweight champion offered his prediction for who would lift the 2017 trophy: the Golden State Warriors in 5 games.

Pacquiao offered the prescient pick on May 27 after a training session at Elorde Gym in Pasay City. At the time, the Warriors had been unbeaten in the playoffs at 12-0, so Pacquiao called that they wouldn’t be the first team to finish the playoffs without a loss.

The 38-year-old Boston Celtics fan turned Warriors supporter is currently preparing for his title defense against unbeaten Jeff Horn on July 2 in Brisbane, Australia.

The win spares Pacquiao from having to fulfill his end of a wager, which dictates that he’d have to walk 30 kilometers from General Santos City (where he’s currently training) to Tinoto in Sarangani province, according to GMA.

Other members of his camp had to walk 21 kilometers from GenSan airport to Pacquiao’s home after the Cavs lost in previous games. – Rappler.com
