Dellavedova: Filipino basketball players are ‘very quick’
The Bucks point guard and his wife will stay in the Philippines a few more days for an extended honeymoon

MANILA, Philippines – During Matthew Dellavedova’s visit in the Philippines to promote his signature shoes under Peak, he also shared some of his thoughts on Filipino players on Friday, July 21 at Robinsons Manila.

“I played against the Philippines in a tournament in France a couple of years ago. (They’re) very quick. A lot of dribble penetration and 3-point shooting,” said Dellavedova who now plays for the Millwaukee Bucks.

In the short time he spent in the country, Dellavedova has already witnessed how enthusiastic Filipinos are about the sport, and he is also hopeful to see locals make it in the NBA.

“Once you (Philippines) have one player, there’s going to be more to follow. With Australian legends and Andrew Bogut as the number one draft pick, that opened the floodgates for the rest of us to come,” said Dellavedova.

Dellavedova also shared his thoughts on the new FIBA format and says he is would love to come back in the Philippines soon.

The current Milwaukee Bucks point guard is in the country to launch the Delly 1 and lead the ribbon cutting of Peak’s first solo outlet store in Manila as its ambassador.

He and his wife, Anna, recently had their wedding and will be staying in the Philippines for a couple more days to travel and explore for their extended honeymoon. – Rappler.com
