Hapee keeps winning, MJM Builders-FEU barges into win column

MANILA, Philippines – The Hapee Fresh Fighters claimed their second straight blowout victory with a 67-52 rout of Bread Story-Lyceum and maintained their spotless slate in the 2015 PBA D-League Aspirants Cup on Monday, November 17 at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.

Hapee did not waste time putting away Bread Story as they built a 37-16 halftime advantage and held their opponents to a miserable 7-of-31 first half shooting.

That stingy defense coupled with Ray Parks dropping 12 of his 18 points in the first two periods ensured Hapee would cruise to their fourth straight triumph.

“We had a good start. That’s our game plan,” said Hapee head coach Ronnie Magsanoc. “And we were able to sustain it because we played well defensively. I thought that was the key.”

Kirk Long added 11 points for the Fresh Fighters. While Angelo Gabayni had 14 markers for Bread Story.

Meanwhile, Racal Motors and MJM Builders-FEU finally barged into the win column with comfortable wins over their foes.

Racal bounced back from a 0-3 start and powered past the MP Hotel Warriors, 74-65, thanks to a third quarter blast that helped them pull away for good.

Racal outscored the now 1-3 MP Hotel, 23-12, in the third and kept them at bay in the fourth.

The MJM Builders-FEU, on the other hand, also had enough of being outplayed by their first 3 opponents. The team comprised of players from UAAP Season 77 finalists National University and Far Eastern University pummeled AMA University, 90-75, in the day’s last game.

Mac Belo charged with 19 points as MJM created separation as early as halftime.
