I’m here at the Cotai Arena here in Macau for the huge fight between Filipino superstar Manny Pacquiao and young American boxer Brandon Rios. As you can see, fans have come in in droves, started entering the arena, everybody’s excited. The atmosphere here is electric. There’s a bunch of Filipino fans as we expected. They also came to the weigh in yesterday. There we saw Pacquiao come in at 145 lbs, Rios at 146.5 lbs. This fight is for the WBO International Welterweight title. Expect them both, however, to come in a little heavier today and, of course, with a lot of heart. This fight is important for both of their careers. A win could catapult Rios to super stardom while a win for Manny Pacquiao is very much needed after coming off two consecutive losses. Rappler will be covering the fight, we’ll be live blogging it, we also have several articles already up. We’ve covered the whole week so you can catch up on that over there and stay with us for all the action here at Rappler.com.
This is Natashya Gutierrez reporting live from Macau.
