WATCH: Mayweather shares video of Pacquiao hotel meeting

MANILA, Philippines – After sharing a photo of their private meeting at a hotel suite in Miami a few days ago, Floyd Mayweather Jr. made another public relations move on social media as he posted a short clip of his closed-door dialogue with Manny Pacquiao.

In an apparently secretly-recorded ten-second video uploaded to Mayweather’s Instagram, Mayweather stressed the importance of staging the super-fight in the final stretch of their respective prizefighting careers.

“I congratulate him (Pacquiao) in his career. He had a wonderful career, and I had a wonderful career. But before we leave the sport, of course, we have to make this fight happen,” the unbeaten American boxer said.

Although Top Rank chief Bob Arum stated that the Pacquiao-Mayweather duel is inch-by-inch coming into fruition following the two boxers’ coincidental meeting at an NBA game, adding that rival networks HBO and Showtime have finally reached an agreement on broadcast arrangements, the sport’s pound-for-pound king has repeatedly dismissed the 83-year-old promoter’s claims.

“I set up this meeting with Manny Pacquiao to get this fight done but they will continue to tell the public it’s us and that’s NOT TRUE,” Mayweather wrote on his Shots account.

Pacquiao reportedly eyes an in-ring return on May 30 in case the negotiation for the long-awaited bout versus Mayweather falls through once more.

On the other hand, Mayweather would likely face Puerto Rican pugilist Miguel Cotto in a rematch as a back-up plan. – Rappler.com
