Pacquiao: Rousey would beat Mayweather in MMA

MANILA, Philippines – Hours before the anticipated press conference for his May 2 mega fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr., Manny Pacquiao made rounds appearing on different ESPN shows on Thursday, March 12 (PH time).

After guesting on ESPN First Take with veteran reporters Skip Bayless and Stephen A. Smith, in which he mentioned that beating Mayweather would be “good for boxing,” Pacquiao visited Jemele Hill and Michael Smith for a few minutes on His & Hers.

While talking with Smith and Hill, the conversation reached the topic about whether or not UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey could take down Mayweather in an MMA fight.

Pacquiao agreed, saying “I believe so.”

“She’s strong enough to beat Floyd Mayweather in MMA,” said the eight-division boxing champion.

Pacquiao also said that he could give Rousey a ticket to the fight despite the limited amount available at the MGM Grand Arena. Hill even joked at one point during the interview that Pacquiao gave the “coldest brush off” to Smith’s request for a ticket, which some estimate to reach up to $100,000.
