Mayweather vs Pacquiao tickets will be expensive outside the arena, too

MANILA, Philippines – Heading to Las Vegas for Floyd Mayweather vs Manny Pacquiao but can’t afford a ticket to the fight? Expect to pay a steep fee if you’re watching on closed circuit.

Bob Arum tells ESPN that the fight will be aired live in Las Vegas for a ticket price of $150. That’s double the price of closed circuit for Mayweather’s last fight against Marcos Maidana this past September.

To put that in context, the cheapest ticket to Pacquiao’s last fight in Las Vegas against Timothy Bradley in April 2014 cost $150. 

The fight on May 2 will effectively be blacked out from non-MGM Resorts International hotels in Las Vegas, meaning the only places to watch it on The Strip will be the MGM Grand, Monte Carlo, Bellagio, and Mirage, Yahoo! reports. 

Tickets for a seat in the arena that night, which are priced at face value between $1,500 and $7,500, are expected to go on sale this week, Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe told Fox5 Las Vegas, but didn’t specify which day.

Fox5 also reports that floor seats could go for over $50,000 on the secondary market.

If you’re looking for a hotel room on The Strip on Friday and Saturday night, be prepared to pay an average of $712 per night, according to Vegas.com

The pay-per-view price in the United States will be $89.95 for standard definition, which is $25 more than the previous record high set by Mayweather’s 2013 fight against Saul “Canelo” Alvarez. The price for a high definition feed will be $99.95.
