MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Azkals takes on the Turkmenistan Green Men in what would be the penultimate match in the Group E of the AFC Challenge Cup Qualifiers in Rizal Memorial Stadium on Tuesday, March 26.

Following an inspired performance after thrashing Cambodia, 8-0, last Sunday, March 24, the Azkals looks set on stamping their dominance by beating powerhouse and two-time AFC Challenge Cup runner-up, Turkmenistan at home soil.

Turkmenistan earlier defeated Cambodia, 7-0, in the opening game of the qualifiers in Rizal Memorial Stadium.

The Philippines and Turkmenistan last met in a thrilling semifinal match in the last edition of the AFC Challenge Cup in Nepal, where the Green Men snatched two goals for the victory in the dying minutes of the game.

The Azkals held the lead most of the match, 1-0, with a goal from Phil Younghusband from a Paul Mulders assist but a defensive breakdown smashed the hopes of the Philippines to make its way to its first ever finals appearance in the tournament.

Kickoff will be at 7:30 p.m.
