MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine sepak takraw team took home 3 medals from the 31st King’s Cup World Sepak Takraw Championships held from October 17 to 23 in Thailand. 

The Philippines copped gold in the men’s doubles category after overcoming world champion Thailand in the semifinal and then upsetting 2015 Southeast Asian Games gold medalist Myanmar in the final. 

The Filipinos, who are set to return home on Monday, October 24, also won silver in the men’s hoop division and a bronze medal in women’s hoop play. 

The members of the Philippine team are Jason Huerte, Rheyjey Ortouste, Ronsited Gabayeron, Emmanuel Escote, Reznan Pabriga, John Jeffery Morcillos, John Bobier, Mark Joseph Gonzales, JC Lee, Alvin Pangan, Joeart Jumawan, Rhemwil Catana, Desiree Autor, Gelyn Evora, Josefina Maat, Mary Ann Lopez, Rizzalyn Amolacion and Kristel Carloman.
