Striegl submits Kara-France at MIMMA 2 finale
Fil-Am Mark Striegl shows-off once again his superb grappling skills taking down Kaiwhare Kara-France in the first round

MANILA, Philippines – “Mugen” returns with a victory.

Filipino-American fighter Mark “Mugen” Striegl made a successful return to competitive fighting with a first-round submission victory over Kaiwhare Kara-France in the co-headliner of Malaysian Invasion Mixed Martial Arts (MIMMA) 2 grand finals on Saturday, October 25 at the Stadium Negara in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Coming off a 13-month layoff due to an injury, Striegl showed no signs of rust as he swiftly latched on a rear-naked choke to compel Kara-France to wave the white flag in the opening salvo.

Like most of his matches in the past, the 26-year-old Striegl emphasized his exceptional grappling pedigree early on as he scored a takedown by taking Kara-France’s back while in standing position.

Once he had Kara-France on the mat, Striegl wasted no time to sink in hooks and immediately fastened a rear-naked choke.

Kara-France tried to defend and remove the dangerous submission hold, but Striegl tightly gripped his opponent’s neck to get the tap.

With the impressive win over Kara-France, Striegl heads back into the winner’s column and improves his prizefighting record to 13-1.

In addition, the 5-foot-8 “Mugen” attains his 11th and 8th-consecutive submission triumph.

Prior to his meeting Kara-France, Streigl was last seen in action when he unsuccessfully viedfor the vacant Pacific Xtreme Combat (PXC) featherweight championship against Jang Yong Kim at PXC 39 in September 2013.

“Big thank you to everyone for all the support in my comeback fight! Just woke up here with a big tummy after feasting all night. Great way to end the year,” Striegl wrote on his official Facebook account Sunday morning, October 26.

On the other hand, Kara-France is now on a two-fight losing skid and drops to 7-5 with one no contest. – Rappler.com
