MANILA, Philippines — Jeron Teng sank the game-winning basket that helped De La Salle University make it two in a row against archrival Ateneo de Manila University with a 66-64 win in the 76th UAAP men’s basketball tournament on Sunday, September 1 at the jampacked Smart Araneta Coliseum.

After Kiefer Ravena tied it up at 64-all with 10.5 seconds left, Jeron Teng attacked the basket and made a shot with 1.9 seconds remaining to push the Green Archers to victory.

La Salle trailed for most of the game before Almond Vosotros canned 7 straight points midway through the 4th period to give the Taft-based squad a lead that they would never relinquish for the rest of the game.

Vosotros led the Archers with 19 points — 9 of them in the 4th quarter and 16 in the second half — while also adding 6 rebounds as La Salle moved to solo 3rd place with a 7-4 record.

Jason Perkins added 13 points, 15 rebounds and two blocks even as LA Revilla waxed hot early to finish with 11 markers for the Archers, who swept the Blue Eagles in the elimination round for the first time since Season 68.

On the other hand, their victims dropped to 6-5 for 5th place. They were led by Juami Tiongson and Nico Elorde, who posted 14 and 13 points, respectively. – Rappler.com
