New racing sim Gran Turismo Sport can get you a real racer license
Not only is GT Sport beautiful and well-detailed; It could also be your ticket to getting a racing license

LOS ANGELES, USA – The Gran Turismo (GT) series has always been a leader in racing simulations, and its soon-to-be released sequel could take racing simulation to a whole new level.

I was able to attend the closed-door presentation of GT Sport where producer Kazunori Yamauchi shared many of the upcoming features offered by the simulator. What I’ve seen so far looks definitely promising.

One of the most notable things about GT Sport is its potential to get you a real racing license in the future. While the full details have not been revealed, Yamauchi shared that soon players may be able to get a real digital racing license straight from GT and the Federation Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) itself simply by completing a number of requirements in the game. Almost all of which will train you to become a safe, skilled racing driver with good racing etiquette.

In order to be eligible for the license you must pass the Racing Etiquette mode of the game, achieve a Silver or better status in all of the campaign modes, and must have a high level of Driver Class and Sportsmanship points.

The game will score you according to how well you drive (Driver Class) and how you act on the racetrack (Sportsmanship points). Which means no pushing cars off the road and learning how to respect the signals and other guidelines within the race.

According to Yamauchi, 22 countries have expressed their interest to participate in such a program, and that includes the Philippines.

Compete in esports and be awarded alongside your favorite real life racers

GT Sport will also have its own esports tournaments and everyone can participate straight from the comfort of their living rooms. The two tournaments will have all participants in assigned regions competing with each other during an assigned schedule. The first tournament will have countries compete against each other. Meanwhile the second tournament will have manufacturer brands’ fans race against each other.

The winners of these tournaments will be awarded alongside FIA sanctioned race winners. Can you imagine yourself being given a trophy right beside racers like Lewis Hamilton?

Incredibly beautiful as always

The bits and pieces of the gameplay montage shown to us displayed just how much the graphics of GT Sport has improved from its predecessor, GT 6. The combination of highly accurate car models, an upgraded physics engine, stunning details, and overall atmosphere of the race tracks, ensure that the players are fully immersed in the game and the environment they are driving in.

Yamauchi explained that the car models look realistic because of their effort to base their colors off of the paint coming from actual car paint manufacturers.

If you want to gaze at the gorgeous cars for a little while longer then consider using the Scapes mode of GT Sport. Scapes allows you to have your own realistic car photoshoot without the hassle of going out and worrying about the logistics of it all.

All you have to do is choose a backdrop, select your car and arrange it wherever you want in the photo, and adjust the lighting, exposure and movement. The sample outcomes presented to us were all striking.

Something special for the car buffs

For the true blue car buffs out there, GT Sport has another treat for you. Two new features in the game will allow you to expand your knowledge about classic cars and help you discover new autos around the world.

Car Dealership mode is gone and it has been replaced by Brand Central. The new mode not only allows you to view the cars available in the game, but will also allow you to watch trailers and feature videos about different cars from different brands everywhere.

If you want to learn more about the past, The Museum returns with historical facts about the automobile industry. These facts are placed alongside other information about the arts, culture, and events to make things more interesting and give more context about when certain cars were first manufactured.

From just the presentation alone I can gather that GT Sport will become another exciting game that many car lovers will cherish right from the get go.
