MANILA, Philippines – Chinese drone-maker DJI announced on Friday, April 21, that IT equipment distributor MSI-ECS will be their official distributor in the Philippines.

Through various resellers, DJI drones have been available in the country prior to the agreement. With an official distributor in tow, DJI users can expect better product support, accessory availability, and even workshops for those wanting to improve their drone-flying skills.

DJI manufactures drones such as the popular Phantom 4 and the ultra-compact Mavic, as well as the DJI Osmo Mobile, a camera-stabilizing rig that attaches to a smartphone.

At the official announcement of the DJI-MSI-ECS distributorship, we talked to Kevin On, DJI’s director of communication about what DJI users will be able to expect going forward and the potential benefits of drone technology in agriculture.

On also commented on the use of drones by terror group ISIS as an explosives-delivery apparatus. The interview is available above. (Read: ISIS using drones to drop grenades)  – Rappler.com
