LOS ANGELES, USA – Shuhei Yoshida, the president of Sony Worldwide Studios, sat down with members of the Southeast Asian press during the Electronic Entertainment Expo 2017 (E3), to talk about the upcoming games for the PlayStation platform. 

One of the names that came up was Crash Bandicoot, a beloved PlayStation mascot who starred in a series of games and rose to fame with the original PlayStation in the ’90s.

Crash – the brainchild of Naughty Dog studios, which now creates the critical hits Uncharted and Last Of Us series – became such a hit in the ’90s that he became the unofficial, de facto mascot for the original PlayStation, overshadowing the official mascot, “Polygon Man.” Crash was at the top of the videogame pop culture heap along with Sega’s Sonic, Nintendo’s Mario or Square Enix Europe’s (then known as Eidos Interactive) Lara Croft back then. 

This year, Crash returns in Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy, a remastered collection of the 3 original Crash games.
