Apple Event 2015: New Apple TV brings Siri to the living room
The new Apple TV will be available at the end of October. It will cost $149 for a 32GB model and $199 for a 64GB model.

MANILA, Philippines – Apple showed off an all new Apple TV experience at its San Francisco event on Wednesday, September 9 (September 10, Manila time).

The new Apple TV showcased a system of apps that were built for televisions, as well as a new touchscreen remote control that will allow users to talk to Siri, who will then do your bidding by searching for shows or apps the users want to watch on their device.

Apple TV runs on the tvOS operating system, which is based on Apple’s iOS. The new operating system will allow iOS developers to create new apps and games for the Apple TV, then deliver them through the App Store on new Apple TV boxes.

Aside from applications, games were also touted as a selling point for the new device.

“There has been so much innovation in entertainment and programming through iOS apps, we want to bring that same excitement to the television,” said Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Internet Software and Services.

“Apps make the TV experience even more compelling for viewers and we think apps represent the future of TV,” he added.
