Microsoft Selfie enhances a photo lover’s portraits
Microsoft Selfie 'takes age, gender, skin tone, lighting, and many other variables into account, applies different models automatically and finishes enhancement with just a single click'

MANILA, Philippines – Microsoft released an app for iOS ahead of the new year that promised to “transform average photos into more presentable portraits” with the aid of machine learning.

Released on December 28, Microsoft Selfie is an application meant to automatically enhance selfies.

As the iOS App Store page for Microsoft Selfie explained, “The app takes age, gender, skin tone, lighting, and many other variables into account, applies different models automatically and finishes enhancement with just a single click.”

The application, according to The Verge, has 13 filter options that will “clean up noise and make other general improvements.”

Along with the improvements, the filters will also make subtle changes based on the type of filter used. Users will also be able to compare the original photo with the enhanced version. – Rappler.com
