Consumers also have the option to trade in their Samsung Galaxy Note7 for a Galaxy S7 Edge

MANILA, Philippines – Samsung Electronics Philippines announced the final details for its Galaxy Note7 replacement program, which is being conducted in response to faulty Note7 batteries that caused a worldwide recall.

Device owners can trade in their Note7 units for new, fixed Note7 units at the store where the device was purchased, starting on Saturday, October 1. Customers need to bring the following items:

  • Galaxy Note7
  • Product box
  • Proof of purchase
  • One valid ID

The replacement program covers Note7 units bought via authorized dealers and operators in the Philippines on or before Wednesday, September 7.

Customers can go to one of Samsung’s authorized customer service centers if they won’t be able to visit the original place of purchase.

Affected Samsung customers can also trade in their Note7 for a Galaxy S7 Edge. This option started on Saturday, September 10. Samsung will reimburse the price difference between the S7 Edge and the Note7.

Samsung’s replacement program will only run until December 31, 2016. At the moment, the company has not released any advisory on whether the deadline will be extended in case some devices remain unreplaced.
