MANILA, Philippines – Samsung revealed a new wearable device called the Samsung Gear Fit at the 2014 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain.

The Gear Fit looks to improve upon Samsung’s Galaxy Gear, providing comprehensive fitness tools with functions that allow it to sync to Galaxy smartphones and receive notifications via Bluetooth 4.0 LE.

Samsung’s Gear Fit comes with a pedometer, exercise monitor, heart rate and sleep monitors, a stopwatch and timer. Aside from notifications, the system allows users to control their media and schedule events.

The device features a 1.84-inch curved Super AMOLED display with a changeable strap – either in black, orange or mocha grey. It is also dust and water resistant, and has can last 3 to 4 days with normal use.
