Twitter gets group messaging, native video sharing features
The company is rolling out group direct messaging and native video sharing and editing features that aim to rival the rise of messaging apps

MANILA, Philippines – Twitter has some new some new tricks for users to try out and use, the company announced Tuesday, January 27.

The company is rolling out group direct messaging and native video sharing and editing features that aim to rival the rise of messaging apps.

The group direct messaging function lets users start conversations with their followers by setting up groups of people to send messages to. Those followers don’t need to follow one another in order to chat.

Users added to a group conversation also get a notification when they’ve been grouped up, making it easy to keep tabs on group conversations.

Meanwhile, the new native video editing and sharing functions on Twitter lets users take videos up to 30 seconds long for sharing via the Twitter app.

Both Twitter features will be rolled out over the next few weeks to users. – Rappler.com
