Instant messaging comes to Tumblr

MANILA, Philippines – You read that right: the Tumblr staff has finally given users a way to chat on the popular blogging platform.

On Tuesday, November 10th, 2015, the staff posted about the announcement on their blog saying, “You asked for it. Here it comes. Messaging. Real, threaded, instant messaging. It’s in the latest Android and iOS apps, and on the web.”

This comes as a much welcome update after Tumblr’s signature comment-tree look was changed into a linear thread to make them easier for users to read, much to the irritation of users.

But if you can’t find this, keep calm and trust the Tumblr staff. They say this huge update will take some time to reach everyone.

If you can’t wait any longer to finally chat with your friends from halfway around the world – or Narnia – simply ask a user who already has the update to message you and it will be activated on your end as well.
