UP wins, Twitter goes nuts

MANILA, Philippines – The UP Fighting Maroons finally did it. They scored a win!

After two years of disheartening losses, some people may have given up hope that the University of the Philippines would ever see a mark under their win column.

However, the stars aligned for the long-time underdogs in their 6th outing in the 77th season of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines or the UAAP.

It would have been 28 straight losses, just another day in UP basketball, but the Fighting Maroons said enough was enough and, by the end of the first half of Saturday’s game, the Mall of Asia Arena saw the rise of UP’s spirit as they soared over the Adamson University Falcons.

When the buzzer rang to end the game, with UP on top, 77-64, the celebration exploded beyond the arena and onto Twitter where dozens upon dozens of happy Iskos and Iskas wanted to share their victory on social media. Check out some of the best tweets here:
