MANILA, Phillippines – On January 15, some of the country’s most talented artists came together under one roof to raise their voices for the survivors of Super Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan).

Voices for Visayas was a one-night concert at the Resorts World Manila Performing Arts Theater featuring artists Andrew Fernando, Audie Gemora, Ballet Philippines, Bayanihan, Philippine National Dance Company, Bituin Escalante, Chad Borja, Douglas Nierras’ Powerdance, Erik Santos, Gary Valenciano, Isay Alvarez, Jay Cayuca, Jed Madela, Karylle, Kuh Ledesma, Leo Valdez, Mandaluyong Children’s Choir, Martin Nievera, Menchu Lauchengco-Yulo, Mitch Valdes, Ogie Alcasid, Philippine Madrigal Singers, Pilita Corrales, Primo, Rachelle Gerodias, Regine Velasquez, Robert Seña, Ryan Cayabyab, the Ryan Cayabayab Singers, Sharon Cuneta and the Company. 

The crown jewel of the concert is the original song “Just Believe,” with lyrics by Jose Javier Reyes, music by Ryan Cayabyab, performed by the concert’s 100 plus artists.

Through song and dance these top-notch artists aim to raise funds for the rehabilitation of homes destroyed by 2013’s most powerful tropical cyclone. All concert proceeds will go to the Philippine Disaster Recovery Foundation and then channeled to projects by Habitat for Humanity and Gawad Kalinga.

Directed by stage and TV director Rich Ilustre, Voices for Visayas tells the story of pain and loss, the joy of hope and the beauty of the bayanihan spirit.
