MANILA, Philippines - In this edition of #TalkThursday, Rappler talks to 2013 senatorial candidate Sonny Angara, son of Senator Edgardo Angara.
On his third and last term in the House of Representatives, the young Angara is one of the most prolific lawmakers. Watch him explain the sometimes frustrating but also fulfilling job of a real lawmaker.
According to the House Indexing and Monitoring Group, he passed into law 10 national bills he filed in the previous 14th Congress. Among these laws are Magna Carta of Women, Personal Equity and Retirement Account (PERA) Act, Pre-Need Code of the Philippines, Real Estate Investment Trust, and Civil Aviation Authority Act.
He also talks about the the impeachment trial of dismissed Chief Justice Renato Corona, the Angara political dynasty in Aurora, and the anti-epal campaign.
Angara belongs to the administration's rainbow coalition. He has an impressive resume. He finished international relations at the London School of Economics, law at the University of the Philippines, and Masters of Law at the Harvard Law School. - Rappler.com
