Before winning the Nobel Peace Prize, Maria Ressa's courage and integrity were put to test by the rising autocracy in the Philippines. Here are some of the highlights of her journey.
“It’s a recognition of the difficulties, but also, hopefully, of how we’re going to win the battle for truth, the battle for facts. We hold the line,” says Rappler CEO Maria Ressa of her Nobel Peace Prize award.
She shares the prize with Russian journalist Dmitry Muratov.
