About Delfin Dioquino

Delfin Dioquino dreamt of being a PBA player, but he did not have the skills to make it. So he pursued the next best thing to being an athlete – to write about them.

He took up journalism at the University of Santo Tomas – where he was the sports editor of The Varsitarian for two years – and joined Rappler as soon as he graduated in 2017.

Initially a part of the science curriculum in high school, he transferred to the Special Program in Journalism and graduated as a member of the inaugural batch.

Delfin is assigned to the PBA and Gilas Pilipinas beats and also helps in the coverage of other major local sports events.

Outside sports, he is a fan of the Filipino rap battle scene, hip-hop, romantic comedy films, and K-pop, particularly TWICE.
