Jairo Bolledo is a multimedia reporter at Rappler covering the police, crime, military, and security.
Before joining Rappler, he ran the news desk at GMA News and Public Affairs’ mobile newscast, Stand for Truth. He also worked as a news producer for 24 Oras Weekend and as a program researcher for Bawal ang Pasaway kay Mareng Winnie and Investigative Documentaries.
Jairo currently teaches journalism and broadcasting at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines, where he also graduated magna cum laude and university valedictorian.
In 2021, Jairo was elected as one of the national directors of the National Union of Journalists of the Philippines, making him the youngest member of the board since the organization’s inception in 1988.
When he’s off work, Jairo volunteers as a choir member in his local parish. He is also interested in fashion design, drag culture, and pageantry.
