CONVERSATION: Building a financially prepared generation
MANILA, Philippines – Always worried about money? You’re not alone. Financial problems plague Filipinos – at every demographic. (READ: SWS survey: 9 out of 10 Pinoys struggled with finances in 2013)
For young people, it’s hard to create a solid financial foundation when they have to become breadwinners right out of college. Then, when they’re ready to raise kids of their own, all their earnings go to their household expenses, rather than for their retirement. In their old age, they become dependent on their kids, and the vicious cycle goes on.
Isn’t it time to do something about it? How do we ensure that we and our future generation will be financially prepared?
On Saturday, August 2, Rappler hosted a Twitter conversation in partnership with Sun Life Financial Philippines. We talked about money mistakes that Pinoys commit over and over again.
In these changing times, courage and clarity become even more important.
