CONVERSATION: Money matters that are #WorthIt
Finances are an important part of life. What do they mean to you? Join our conversation on Tuesday, January 10 from 10 am onwards

MANILA, Philippines – One of the most satisfying experiences in life is receiving your very first paycheck.

It’s tangible proof that the challenging process of applying for the job, undergoing training, and getting used to the workplace were totally worth it.

Financial milestones like that first salary are an important facet of adulthood. Aside from enabling you to acquire and buy things, money also marks your progress in life.

These milestones transform as you get older. Once you’ve ticked one off, it’s off to the next. From your first paycheck, you move on to opening up a bank account and receiving your first debit card, and as you build savings, being qualified for your first credit card. Later on, when you have a family or when you start a business, you begin making bigger investments. You can sign up for your first in a series of loans, like an auto loan, a home loan, or even a Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) loan.

All money milestones require time and effort to attain, but in the end, they’re worth it because they lead to something more: a savings account for a secure future; a debit and credit card for purchasing power; a loan for the car and home you’ve always wanted, or business to help you fulfill your loved ones’ aspirations as well.

How are you doing in terms of fulfilling your own financial milestones? For you, what makes completing money goals worth the effort?

Last Tuesday, January 10, with the hashtag #WorthIt, we had a conversation on this topic in partnership with BDO. You shared your thoughts on how you’re working towards achieving your goals.
