Kids for Kids will use the funds collected to raise awareness about plastic bag pollution

Kids for Kids was established by sisters Tasha and Bella Tanjutco (then 13 and 15 years old ) in 2015 to start a simple out-of-school youth organization.

“We knew that we were capable of reaching out to more kids beyond the given outreaches held in school. We saw the drive of the youth who want to give back and make a difference and we wanted to provide them with the platform to be able to turn their compassionate ideas for others into reality,” said Tasha.

From 13 kids wanting to make a difference, they are now more than 500.

“Kids for Kids has become more than just an organization. It has become an outlet to create change. We center and revolve our action around the rights of a child,” said Bella.

They partner with organizations like UNICEF to help feed malnourished children and send underprivileged kids to school. Since they started, they have raised over P2.5 million for kids in need, and have provided healthcare for 1,600 children.

This time around, they want to fund projects that will help raise awareness about plastic bag pollution. They plan to do this by organizing a garage sale, in partnership with Bye Bye Plastics Bags Philippines, also a social initiative driven by the youth.  Bye Bye Plastic Bag Philippines organizes coastal cleanups in different areas in the Philippines.
