Filipinos love music.
The proliferation of quaint bars and pubs in Metro Manila where music lovers usually go to on a Friday night despite the horrible traffic to catch their favorite artists’ gigs is proof. But since the pandemic struck last January, concerts and shows had to be postponed or cancelled to help curb the transmission of the coronavirus.
To keep the gig culture alive – for a cause – Smart partnered with Soupstar Velvet Live to launch #SmartMusicLive Online Sessions, a series of fundraising concerts to support frontliners.
6Cyclemind, the multi-awarded band that rose to fame in 2003 and created hit singles like Biglaan, Prinsesa, and Upside Down will be playing their top songs at 5 pm today. You can catch them live through this link.
Meanwhile, Raymund Marasigan and Buddy Zabala, also known as the Ultra Combo, will be holding their online concert on May 11, same time.
Every week, #SmartMusicLive features one OPM band to play Pinoy-favorite hit songs. To make it more interactive, fans can join the live stream and share messages of hope by subscribing to GIGA Stories, Smart’s promo for streaming, gaming, and social media sharing. It now comes with Free Stories For All – an extra 1GB data every day for Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.
They kicked off the 8-week long online concert last March 23 featuring Moonstar88 followed by the Gracenote, Banda ni Kleggy, then Imago.
Aside from Soupstar artists, Smart also teamed up with Jam 88.3, Wave 89.1, Magic 89.9, and 99.5 Play FM.
You can also do your part and donate with a simple text message. Together with the PLDT-Smart Foundation and Smart, you can help frontliners and communities affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Just text DONATE
Your donation can help send out aid to the families of frontline health workers, checkpoint officers, emergency response teams, and communities in need during the quarantine period. Make a difference and donate now.
The Text-to-Donate platform accepts donations until July 16, 2020.
