This 2020, we know that more people will be welcoming the new year underemployed or unemployed. Thus a media noche celebration – a yearly highlight for many Filipino families – is not guaranteed for every family.

In line with this, PLDT Home is taking part in PLDT-Smart Foundation (PSF)’s “Tuloy Pa Rin ang Pasko,” a Christmas corporate social responsibility (CSR) campaign that aims to deliver noche buena and media noche meals to families. 

The company encourages every Filipino to share the spirit of giving by participating in this initiative. 

Here’s how you can help provide meals for families on New Year’s Eve: For every PLDT Home WiFi Prepaid unit sold until December 31, P100 will be donated to the “Tuloy Pa Rin ang Pasko” program. 

What happens to your donation? 

Noche buena and media noche packages

After purchasing a PLDT Home WiFi unit, your P100 donation will be forwarded to the PLDT-Smart Foundation. The accumulated amount will be used to buy media noche packages. 

Turnover to families and communities

The media noche packages will be distributed to selected families in cooperation with various sectors. 

Here is a glimpse of what has already been accomplished under the “Tuloy Pa Rin ang Pasko” campaign: Last December 18, noche buena packages were turned over to Manila City’s tricycle drivers and their families through Mayor Isko Moreno. 

In the succeeding turnovers that are scheduled before the end of the year, other target beneficiaries include families in Pasig and Malabon City and poor communities through the Department of Social Welfare and Development Bagong Silangan, among others.

Ms. Esther Santos, President of PLDT-Smart Foundation, also shared their upcoming plans under this campaign. 

“We will be distributing more food boxes to families affected by the recent floods and fire in Mandaluyong, as well as economically-challenged households in Pasig and Malabon. We also will contribute to the noche buena dinner of a home for the aged and the Boystown and Girlstown communities. We in PSF, PLDT Home, and the other MVP companies want to bring some Christmas cheer to these homes and families.”

Together with the PLDT-Smart Foundation, Asian Hospital Medical Center, and NLEX Corporation, PLDT Home aims to ensure that every Filipino family has a warm meal on New Year’s Eve. 

Despite the challenges we met this year, Santos noted that: “We in PSF will also remember 2020 as the grand year of generosity. When we thought that the PLDT-Smart Group, employees, and sponsors have already experienced donor fatigue, they pleasantly surprised us with even more donations to help those in need when we made a call for help.”
