The Oktoberfest launch was a night to remember – with great music, ice cold beer and legendary OPM icons

MANILA, Philippines – It was a long night of drinking, body bumping and beer showers as San Miguel Oktoberfest officially launched on Friday, September 12 at the Greenfield District Central Park.

The field was filled with beer and music lovers. Some were sitting on the grass waiting for their favorite bands while others were protectively securing their place near the stage. All, of course, were holding their cups or bottles of ice cold beer.

The night started out with young crowd drawers like Flying Ipis, Yolanda Moon, Taken by Cars and Techy Romantics. The night escalated as iconic bands such as Slapshock, Greyhoundz, Razorback, together with 6Cyclemind and Rivermaya raised the crowd’s spirits.

Of course, a San Miguel celebration would not be complete without their celebrity endorsers. Among these stars were Red Horse Beer’s brand evangelists Ely Buendia and Pepe Smith, the Gutierrez siblings Richard, Raymond and Ruffa, stars Marian Rivera, Georgina Wilson, Alice Dixson, Jake Cuenca and basketball players San Miguel BeerMen.

The country’s top DJs Mars Miranda, Ace Ramos, and Deuce Manila kept the party going with mash ups with the bands onstage.

But what really made the 12-hour celebration stand out? The beer showers that got everybody wet and made the night more festive.
