Trailblazers: director Paul Soriano and chef Rolando Laudico talk about what drives them

Their careers are dream jobs for most people.

While their achievements are many, these are outnumbered by the risks they’ve taken. There have been some failures but these trailblazers hunkered down to steer a course towards success.

Today, they can be considered among the leaders of their respective fields. Director Paul Soriano has already reaped several awards and launched 1017P, his very own production company. Chef Rolando Laudico can be seen in network TV and various endorsements, but he first made his name by championing Filipino cuisine.

Both men were ahead of their time.

Prior to attaining their success, they were very much like you and I. The difference? They dreamed, they dared and then they delivered. They got up after every disappointment, even if there were many.

They talked to Rappler about the lessons they learned and the leaps of faith they took, to arrive at where they are now.  As we finish the last lap of 2014, and begin anew in 2015, it bears asking – where are we headed? And what trail do we want to blaze for ourselves?
