Join us for the second episode of Kitchen 143 this July 6, Tuesday, 4 pm

For many of us, coffee is comfort. We can’t start our days without it, it’s our much-needed pick-me-up during a midday slump, sometimes it’s just that drink we want warming our hands as we unwind after a long tiring day.

In the US alone, according to the National Coffee Association, the average coffee drinker consumes just over three cups of coffee a day. And, in a report by Fitch Solutions, it’s estimated that every Filipino will be drinking 3.78 kilograms every year by 2025. This will make the Philippines the top consumer of coffee in Southeast Asia.

It’s not really surprising that given our relationship with coffee, it became one of the first “play things” of Filipinos under lockdown last year – from whipping Dalgona, to steeping their own cold brew, to incorporating the drink in both sweet and savory recipes.

On July 6, Tuesday, 4 pm, for the second episode of Kitchen 143, we dive deep into the topic of coffee and cooking. In the live session, host Michelle Aventajado will be joined by Prologue restaurant owner Alyanna Uy, and make-up artist/newfound coffee connoisseur Jigs Mayuga.

JIGS MAYUGA

Together, they’ll walk us through the story of coffee, as well as show us recipes using coffee – from roasting beans and preparing bacon smoked in coffee to making coffee-infused dessert.

They’ll also be giving away many special prizes! So watch out for those!
