MANILA, Philippines – Millennials are not money-driven – they’re passion driven.

Unlike Generation X, their benchmark for success is not necessarily having the cash to buy a car and a house by a certain age. For them, success also means finding fulfillment in being able to pursue their passions.

Previous generations have had to face the dilemma of choosing between passion and paycheck. But with the resources available to them, millennials don’t have to pick – they can choose both.

This generation plans to climb up the corporate ladder, but it also wants to hone talents for creative pursuits and other gigs.

This two-fold dream career path gave birth to the “slashie,” or the multi-faceted, multi-skilled, and multi-passionate individual.

These individuals choose to not be defined by one thing they do.

For them, it’s not enough to characterized by their day jobs. Passion is a big part of their psyche, and they want it to be acknowledged as such.

Slashies can competently juggle professions and sidelines. They’re savvy multi-taskers, using gadgets with the desire to be more efficient.

But they don’t lose themselves to the grind. They know the importance of finding time for hobbies, recreational activities, and socializing.

After all, that’s what being a slashie is all about – being a balanced, well-rounded individual.
