#WhatsNext: Go on a meaningful adventure this Earth Month
Join this eco-tour to Sapang Munti, Norzagaray, Bulacan in partnership with Meaningful Travels PH on April 28, 5 am - 7 pm

MANILA, Philippines – Whenever we travel, we usually look to unwind, explore, or discover oneself. The goal is often personal. But what if rather than just taking home new experiences, you can also give back?

On April 28, Rappler’s #WhatsNext program comes back this year to bring you a different kind of adventure in celebration of Earth Month. In partnership with Meaningful Travels PH, we are going to take you on an eco-tour to where the water for the 12 million people in Metro Manila comes from — the Ipo Watershed in Norzagaray, Bulacan.

#WhatsNext is Rappler’s program that aims to bring you tools, connections, and opportunities to figure out or pursue your passion. We’ve partnered with organizations from different sectors – marketing, social entrepreneurship, environmental conservation, and now, social tourism.

Meaningful Travels PH advocates social tourism through trips that combine traveling and community immersion. For this #WhatsNext event, participants will get to give back to the environment and spend the day with the Sapang Munti community — the local village that resides beside the dam.

In this tour, you will:

  • Immerse yourself in nature through treks and boat rides.

  • Enjoy fresh, home-cooked meals especially prepared by the members of the community.

  • Participate in seedling planting at the watershed forest.

  • Explore the village and experience moments of quiet simplicity.

  • Get to know and honor the Bantay Gubats (local rangers who protect and rehabilitate the forest) through a thanksgiving program.

  • Give back to the Sapang Munti by donating some of the items below:

Bring along your family, friends, and relatives. Inspire your kids with an adventure while teaching them awareness about the environment and community immersion. See how travels can be more worthwhile by joining this #WhatsNext tour.
