Emergency tips for Globe mobile subscribers

MANILA, Philippines – These are emergency tips sent in by Globe Telecoms for its mobile subscribers:

  • For areas with power, make sure that mobile phones are fully-charged. Check load balances and top-up if necessary. For Globe Prepaid and TM subscribers, balance checks can easily be done by dialing *143#.
  • For areas with no electricity, conserve battery life by making judicious use of voice calls and by switching to “manual” updates for social media apps/sites.
  • Keep your mobile phones and devices in a water-proof pouch or plastic wrap to prevent water damage. It’s also best to keep the chargers on-hand in case of emergencies or sudden evacuation.
  • For Globe and TM subscribers who have zero balances and are unable to top-up their accounts, you may still send a message to your Globe and TM friends and loved-ones through the “Text Mo Libre Ko” service of Globe. They may accept to pay for your text to them. Just send the message to 2354+the 11-digit Globe/TM number (ex. 235409171234567). Globe and TM subscribers may use the service to check on friends, relatives or co-workers who are in flood-prone areas or evacuation centers. Each message sent costs P1.00 to the text recipient who gave permission to accept charges for text messages.
