WeatherPhilippines app is now available for Android and iOS

MANILA, Philippines – In an effort to make more Filipinos “weather wiser,” Weather Philippines Foundation launched its WeatherPhilippines app available for Android and iOS, in partnership with Aboitiz Power and created through a BetterWorld initiative.

The suite of weather information includes 5-day localized forecasts, a link to national weather news, and color-coded severe weather warnings based on World Meteorological Organization (WMO) standards.

The app can also link with your social media network allowing everyone to use a common track-and-warn system. This feature empowers individuals to assist and support family and friends before, during, and after a severe weather event.

“Timing is everything with weather and we want to ensure that users receive the most accurate, localized weather information possible, which is why we’ve made it easily accessible to both android and iOS devices,” Celso C. Caballero III, VP and General Manager, WeatherPhilippines Foundation said.

He added: “With its social media shareability and label customization options, the app delivers on its #WeatherWiser promise.”

The #WeatherWiser campaign has also been encouraging local government units and industries to use weather information for business continuity planning, tourism operations and agricultural practices.

Weather Philippines has been providing timely and reliable weather information to the public for better management of disaster risks associated with impacts of climate change.  Rappler.com
