The InclusiveMobility team has selected a short list from the entries submitted to the Challenge. Now is your chance to vote for your favorite project from the 15 finalists

MANILA, Philippines – The 2012 People’s Choice Awards for Inclusive Mobility is up and running. The InclusiveMobility team has selected a short list from the entries submitted to the Challenge. Now is your chance to vote for your favorite project from the 16 finalists.

Inclusive Mobility is the short name for “Catalyzing New Mobility in Cities: The Case of Metro Manila,” a project implemented by the Innovations at the Base of the Pyramid in Southeast Asia (iBoP-Asia) Program at the Ateneo School of Government. One of the project activities is the Inclusive Mobility Challenge, a search for innovative projects or businesses that move people, not cars, in Metro Manila.

These groundbreaking initiatives include those that—

• Make the streets of Metro Manila safer for everyone, particularly the poor and the vulnerable, including children, the elderly, persons with disability, persons on foot, and cyclists.

• Shorten travel times, lower travel costs, and make public transport more convenient.

• Lessen air and noise pollution and climate change brought about by motor vehicles.

Cast your vote here. Voting ends on September 19, 2012.

The project with the most number of votes will be declared the winner of the 2012 People’s Choice Award for Inclusive Mobility. The winner will gain the following:

• A Php6,000 cash prize.

• Recognition and networking opportunities at the Inclusive Mobility Summit in September. The summit will bring together decision makers from the business sector, entrepreneurs, government agencies, and civil society.
