Gawad Kalinga to hold 3rd Global Social Business Summit
Gawad Kalinga's 3rd Global Social Business Summit aims to bring together people from different sectors to collaborate on solutions to global problems

This is an announcement:

On January 15 – 17, 2016, Gawad Kalinga (GK) will be hosting the 3rd Annual Global Social Business Summit at the GK Enchanted Farm in Angat, Bulacan with the theme, “The Business of Kindness: Doing Good Makes Good Business Sense,” focusing on social innovation for greater inclusion in emerging economies.

GK would like to invite those interested to this gathering of local and foreign social entrepreneurs, impact investors, partners and university students to explore collaborative solutions in addressing many of our global challenges in the context of inclusive growth.

The GK Enchanted Farm is the articulation of the 2nd phase of GK, focused on creating a prototype for sustainability through countryside development and social entrepreneurship.

Launched almost 5 years ago with President Benigno Aquino III, the GK Enchanted Farm is the first Farm Village University in the world, a unique platform and hub for social innovators and entrepreneurs from different parts of the world to converge towards addressing some of humanity’s greatest challenges: extreme poverty, food security and climate change.

The Global Social Business Summit will be host to captains of industries, government and private sector leaders, impact investors, innovators, and social entrepreneurs with the sole objective of creating new and innovative ways of making society better through collaboration, inclusive growth, and proof-of-concept.

Aside from an opportunity to interact and engage with like-minded individuals throughout the summit, the Global Social Business Summit is unique as the GK Enchanted Farm is located at the heart of an actual GK Community, creating an opportunity to immerse and engage with the people who will benefit the most from social entrepreneurship — the bottom of the pyramid.

Delegates will be part of this potent mix of attendees from various sectors, hailing from countries as far as South Africa and Australia, and key regions of the Philippines intent on connecting, collaborating and establishing concrete next steps.

Delegates will have the option to be billeted both offsite and onsite on the 35-hectare expanse, and feast on natural and organic food grown at the farm, enlivened by nightly cocktails and entertainment.

On the final day of the Summit on January 17, GK is also celebrating the 13th GK Global Expo, a thanksgiving for the millions of volunteers on the ground, showcasing the continued rebuilding efforts post-Haiyan, “Kusina ng Kalinga,” a massive GK campaign aimed at addressing hunger through a more sustainable model, and the ongoing integration of Barangay Walang Iwanan among other initiatives. – Rappler.com
