MANILA, Philippines – Instead of just creating a travel diary or journal to save your memories, why not turn your vacations into full-fledged travel stories? Find out how at the upcoming workshop of Writer’s Block Philippines.

Travel the Write Way” is happening on Saturday, March 12, from 1 pm to 6 pm at Fully Booked Bonifacio Global City. 

Facilitating the workshop will be Ana P. Santos and Nikka Sarthou-Lainez, two freelance writers who put up Writer’s Block Philippines in 2010. Writer’s Block is an organization dedicated to empowering writers, communicators, and creative entrepreneurs.

Santos, a journalist who focuses on women and gender issues, says: “Whether you’re an aspiring writer or already have a blog, you’ll definitely get helpful tips on how to craft better travel-related features. You don’t have to be published to join the workshop, although already published writers are welcome to join as well.” 

Santos is a regular columnist in Rappler and Working Mom magazine. As the 2014 Persephone Miel Fellow for the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting, her work has been published in international titles such as The Atlantic and The Washington Post.

“Simply stringing words together is not enough, which is why we’ll discuss essential tips on how to create more engaging travel stories. We’ll be sharing our own experiences and some examples to help guide you,” says Sarthou-Lainez, a lifestyle writer.

Sarthou-Lainez was chosen as one of the 5 Asian representatives for Moleskine’s Modern Nomads in 2012. She is currently a Contributing Editor in Smile magazine and she also writes for various online and print publications.
