The following is a press release from the Department of Agribusiness Management and Entrepreneurship, College of Economics and Management (DAME-CEM) in University of the Philippines Los Baños.

With the theme “Traversing the Sectoral Divide for Inclusive Agribusiness,” the 2nd Global Agribusiness Management and Entrepreneurship (GAME) Conference is set to happen on October 26-27, 2017 at the Acacia Hotel, Alabang, Muntinlupa City, Philippines.

GAME Conference aims to serve as a venue where scholars and practitioners can discuss how they can harness their various expertise, resources, and networks and collaborate to make inclusive agribusiness a reality.

The highlights of the conference include plenary presentations and panel discussions on the topics of “Creating an Enabling Environment for Inclusive Agribusiness: Perspectives of Support Institutions” and ““Evolving Inclusive Agribusiness Models: Innovations, Best Practices and the Way Forward”, the signing of an academe-industry MOU between UPLB and A Brown Company, Inc. and the relaunching of the book, “Nelia T. Gonzalez: An Entrepreneur’s Journey”.

The two-day conference is organized by the Department of Agribusiness Management and Entrepreneurship of the College of Economics and Management in University of the Philippines Los Baños in cooperation with UPLB CEM Alumni Foundation, Inc. and the Coalition for Agriculture Modernization in the Philippines, Inc.

About the conference

Inclusive agribusiness is the creation of opportunities to enable small farmers, farmer groups, and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to become economically viable partners with the big players in the value chain.

Such an approach will require cutting across boundaries and bridging gaps among sectors like the academe, government, and private business.

The key here is sharing profit, wealth, and growth between the big and small players. Thus no small farmer would be left behind by the bus towards progress.
