The event brings together designers and government and industry leaders to tackle challenges concerning health, education, and culture

MANILA, Philippines – Moving beyond dreaming of a better nation, Design Co. Mission brings together design studios to come up with out-of-the-box ideas and innovative ways to address challenges government organizations, educational systems, and communities are facing.

Plus 63 Design Co., Inksurge, and Team Manila come together at 3 pm on Saturday, August 3 at the Ayala Museum. Participating designers will brainstorm and present solutions for specific problems in the education, culture and health sector. Plus63 is an independent design company that also organizes talks and events that get people excited about the intersections of design, creativity, and nation-building. Sharing the stage are Inksurge, an award-winning design studio run by designers Jois Tai and Rex Advincula, and Team Manila, one of the leaders in the creative community, helmed by Jowee Alviar and Mon Punzalan.

Unlike the usual creative event that showcases a designer’s body of work or recent explorations in new media, Design Co.Mission is a unique presentation platform that’s pushing for more possibilities and collaborations between the government and the design industry.

Plus63 Design Co. co-founders and creatives Dan Matutina and Bernice De Leon-Yumul, organized Design Co.Mission as “a channel for designers to present ideas that can positively impact the way we live. We commission creatives with design challenges on how to improve public services, present new solutions, and strengthen branding — to make what is important matter to more than just a few people, and to change their experiences for the better.”

Joining the design studios at the event will be government and industry leaders, creative entrepreneurs, journalists, new media practitioners, professionals and students ready to fill the venue with ideas, inspiration and future collaborations.

The event is free and open to the public.
