Months of thrills at Resorts World Manila

MANILA, Philippines – The month of August kicks off Resorts World Manila’s (RWM) three-and-a-half month long celebration of their 4th year anniversary.

Branding the series of events as a “Thrillathon,” RWM promises a no-holds-barred mix of world class events right in the heart of Pasay City.

Here’s a complete line-up of the events expected between August 2 until November 15:

More events

For bookworms, RWM will be hosting a Book-A-Thon starting August 16 featuring famous authors for book signings, mini workshops, and meet-and-greet events.

Shopaholics can also go crazy over a week-long, property-wide sale from August 26 until September 1 while jetsetters can plan their next destinations at the Ready Set Travel event from September 20 to 22.

October will usher in RWM’s take on Germany’s most popular holiday — the Oktoberfest. German food and affordable beers will be available while everyone can try for the Beer Olympics that has grand stakes for billiards, darts, and beer pong.

Along with the Mystic Carnival is a ToyCon creature and hero displays for kids and kids at heart. An exclusive viewer’s party for the TV cult hit “The Walking Dead’s Season 4” and a Trick or Thrill event featuring acrobats, buskers, and good old Halloween fun will also commence in late October.

But not everything is fun and games as RWM will be reviving its Pinoy Ultimate Jeepney art contest as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility efforts.

The initiative aims to breathe new life into jeepneys going around the Nichols “Ikot” route in Pasay City and renew the prominence of the jeepney as a Philippine cultural symbol.

Submission of concept board entries is now open until Sept 30, 2013. There will be 13 shortlisted designs–the best of which will win P100,000. – Rappler.com
