PUP's College of Business Administration hosts its 4th Annual HR Convention on March 3-5

MANILA, Philippines — ASEAN 2015 is almost upon us, and its effect on every major industry will be tremendous.

Companies have to start thinking “global.” Executives need to prepare their employees now, if they haven’t started doing so.

How should human resource (HR) departments develop their hiring and training strategies to increase competency – not just in the region but around the world?

To address these concerns, the Polytechnic University of the Philippines’ College of Business Administration, Department of Management will host the 4th Annual HR Students Convention (HRSC) from March 3 to 5 at PUP’s Bulwagang Balagtas.

More than 3,000 participants from 14 colleges and universities will be attending the event.

For 2014, the theme is “Crossing Borders: HR Beyond Limitations.”  The convention will tackle the important role of HR in the world of business in the face of the looming ASEAN integration.

The 3-day program will consist of the following main topics:

  • March 3 — HR as a Strategic Partner: A Key to Business Success in the Advancing Asian Economy
  • March 4 — Human Resource: A Distinctive Preference for Career Planning
  • March 5 — HR and Its Role in Building Global Talent Strategy

HR executives from 3 TV networks (GMA, ABS-CBN, TV 5) will be on stage to share their best practices in the field of human resources.

Future practitioners will gain an in-depth understanding of HR’s vital role harnessing the best talents in a competitive, global pool. The event organizers also hope to motivate HR students to continue pursuing the program, and make them aware of a promising career in HR management.
