Olongapo to experience 10-hour power interruption on Saturday
The outage is expected to run from 7 AM to 5 PM

MANILA, Philippines – Parts of Olongapo City will temporarily experience a ten-hour power interruption from the morning of August 16 to give way for preventive maintenance to be conducted by power distributor Olongapo Electricity Distribution Company (OEDC).

This was announced by OEDC and affects areas served by macro substation-feeder 5 (MF5), including portions of Barangay Sta. Rita along Sta. Rita Road, from Venus St. (Sta. Rita Elementary School) to Sta. Rita Bridge; portions of Cabling Lane; and the whole stretch of Clark Street.

The power interruption will start from 7:00 in the morning and is expected to resume by 5:00 on Saturday afternoon.

OEDC noted that defective and rotten poles, including cross-arms and other attachments on poles, need to be replaced, while trimming and cutting of vegetation that are close to high voltage lines will also be done.

The preventive maintenance is part of the continuing effort of OEDC in upgrading and improving the reliability of the Olongapo City electrical distribution network, and providing Olongapo residents with quality power services. – Rappler.com
